Easy, Advanced Beginner ----- Adorable shorts; your girls will love these!

These super cute shorts are easy to sew and can be made in a variety of fabrics. The shorts feature a frill around the leg and an elastic pull-on waist with an optional tie belt. The frill can be finished with a plain rolled hem or babylock edging if you have a machine that can do this; alternately a lace edging or fancy machine embroidery stitch can be used. The shorts are designed to finish at upper thigh length.

Experience: suitable for the novice seamstress with some experience: only plain sewing skills required; being able to use a hemming foot would be helpful. Careful attention to correct seam allowances and neatness is important. Follow the sewing tutorial closely to get a perfect finish.                    

Sizes: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, --- to fit children 2 to 12 years. A size chart in centimetres and inches is included and also a finished length measurement chart.

Fabrics: medium weight and lightweight cottons e.g. denim, drill, poplin, homespun and similar fabrics.  Minimal stretch knits e.g. cotton single knit jersey is also suitable.
