EASY PATTERN -- Knit fabric pattern.

Digital sewing pattern PDF file. Instant download. No postage available.

The Pop-Over Tunic is cute and easy to sew.  You can create a great little outfit when you team the Pop-Over with matching leggings and a T shirt. It also works perfectly as a sun dress. The Pop-Over Tunic is designed to be teamed with the Children’s Leggings pattern also available from Felicity Sewing Patterns shops. The leggings pattern is not included with the Tunic.

DESCRIPTION: The skirt length is to mid thigh and has a gentle flare with patch pockets; the straps have elastic inserted to make it easier to pull over. There are no zips or plackets. The contrast facing is stitched so that it is on the outside of the dress; applying the trim to the edge of the facing makes it easier to sew in place as well as adding a pretty finish. The tunic length can easily be lengthened for a dress.

SIZES: 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10 to fit children 1 to 10 years. Always check the size chart included in the pattern file before you start. Chest and height measurements are the best guide for selecting the correct size for your child. The size chart gives body dimensions only; the pattern has ease added.

EXPERIENCE: Advanced beginner with some experience sewing knit fabric. You will need a machine that has a stretch stitch setting; most machines will have this option. If you have not sewn knits before then just do a little experimenting with machine stitches and some scrap jersey fabric.

FABRIC: Suitable for knit fabric only. Cotton jersey with 5% lycra is ideal. I used a plain cotton jersey for the skirt; the contrast facings, pockets and straps are in the cotton/lycra 4 way stretch print that I used for the matching leggings. To trim the facing edge I used a mini bobble trim which is ideal as it is soft and slightly stretchy. If you can’t get this a lace edging will also work.
